KMC Photographers trip to Ireland
Early March I was headed to a trip I will never forget. A photographer friend of mine planned a girls photographers trip to Ireland and I was so thrilled to be a part of this! So there we are, 8 girls - professional photographers from the KMC are in Germany, heading to Ireland.
Of course, Cliffs of Moher was a must. We all know, Ireland is not known for it’s gorgeous weather but what we faced at the cliffs was far from what any of us could have imagined. Not only did we experience sunshine, rain, wind and hail all within 5 minutes but the wind up there was as crazy like I’ve never seen before!
The way to the cliffs was an adventure itself as driving on the left with the steering wheel on the right is something that takes a while to get used to, haha! But it sure was a scenic drive through rugged landscape and once we saw this “field” of rocks, we stopped for a few minutes and had a quick photo shoot of course. Here a beautiful photo of Sabina from Sabina Parks Photography. Perfect weather, perfect breeze just enough to give the photo the right amount of movement.
Then once we go to the cliffs, weather was getting a little moodier. Here a photo of Amanda from Tanefski Photography, taken at the Cliffs of Moher. We all made it a point to be in front of the camera at least once on this trip. It’s so important to know how it feels being on the other side of the camera. Let me say, I’m a very introvert person and it took me a while to warm up - it feels awkward and I totally know how my clients feel :)
Next, we continued on along the cliffs past the official path further onto the cliffs. Victoria from Victoria Tiger photography brought a few gorgeous dresses and had a vision vor Kela’s photos. Kela from Emerald Sky Photography braved the cold and the wind and we went closer to the edge of the cliffs and were able to capture some beautiful photos of Kela! The fact that it almost blew us off the cliffs on our way back - different story!
After staying at the greater Dublin area, we drove up North to Belfast, as our next stop was the Giant’s Causeway. Little did we know that Belfast aka Northern Ireland is actually not Ireland but part of the UK! Once we got there, weather was slowly coming around from rain to sunshine so we were able to enjoy quite a while at the UNESCO world heritage and we took lots of photos. If you’re ever in Northern Ireland, definitely go check it out!
It wasn’t too busy that day so we spent a few hours there capturing lots of beautiful portraits as well as a few behind the scenes. Victoria, Sabina, Ina, Nancy and Christina were all able to get in front of the camera!
We sure made the most of that beautiful day as right after Giant’s Causeway we came across a beautiful beach, completely empty and we knew we had to shoot there! This time, I got in front of the camera myself and I have to admit, I had a blast! Yes, it was freezing but it was such an incredible experience and I was able to receive some photos I will cherish forever - Thank you so much to all the girls for this! Oh, and of course what would Ireland be without a perfect rainbow?!
And as if that wasn’t enough for one day, after the beach we checked out the Dark Hedges, a famous street with old trees along the side forming a tunnel. It looked qiet different in person but with the right edit, it makes for a mysterious location - definitely worth stopping by at!
This was a once in a lifetime trip and I’m so thankful for being part of such an incredible community. It was an honor getting to know all these amazing women and I know that we all will make our own ways in life in different parts of the world but this trip will forever be ours to reminisce. Thank you all for making this unforgettable!
