Motherhood is one of the most beautiful, raw, and fleeting journeys in life. As a photographer, I get to witness these intimate moments firsthand, and I feel incredibly honored every time a mother trusts me to capture her story. While I don’t have children of my own, I’ve spent years working with mothers and watching the incredible bond they have with their little ones. I see the way your baby clings to you, how your toddler buries their face in your shoulder when they’re feeling shy, the way your older child instinctively reaches for your hand. These tiny moments are the heart of motherhood, and I want to help you hold onto them forever.

Who Are These Sessions For?

My Motherhood Sessions are for every mom who wants to slow down and soak in this time with her children. Whether you’re expecting your first baby, in the thick of the newborn stage, breastfeeding, or chasing after a toddler, this session is for you. It’s for the mothers who spend their days rocking, feeding, kissing boo-boos, and whispering “I love you” a hundred times a day. It’s for the moms who are rarely in the frame because they’re always the ones behind the camera.

I also welcome mothers with older children. Just because they’ve outgrown your lap doesn’t mean they’ve outgrown your love. These sessions capture the ever-changing, always-growing bond between you and your children, no matter their age.

What You’ll Get Out of a Motherhood Session

  • A pause button for this season of life. Motherhood moves fast. One day, you’re rocking your baby to sleep, and the next, you’re watching them run off to school. These photos allow you to freeze time, even if just for a moment.

  • Tangible memories to hold onto. Imagine flipping through a printed album years from now and feeling those tiny fingers wrapped around yours all over again.

  • A chance to be seen. You deserve to be in the frame. Your children will want to look back and see how much you loved them, how much you held them, how much you were there.

  • A deeply emotional experience. I craft these sessions to be more than just a photoshoot. We’re creating something real—something that captures the love, the laughter, and even the quiet moments in between.

What to Expect During Your Session

I know it can feel a little nerve-wracking to step in front of the camera, especially when you’re used to being the one taking the pictures. But trust me, this will be a relaxed and beautiful experience. Here’s what happens:

  1. Before the Session: We’ll chat about your vision, what’s important to you, and any specific shots or moments you want to capture. I’ll also help with outfit planning to ensure everything flows beautifully.

  2. The Photoshoot: We’ll keep things natural and intimate. There’s no stiff posing—just you and your babies being yourselves. Whether that means snuggling close, playing, laughing, or quietly nursing your little one, I’ll guide you when needed but also let the moments unfold naturally.

  3. After the Session: I carefully edit each image to bring out the dreamy, timeless feel that my clients love. You’ll receive a beautifully curated gallery where you can select prints, albums, or digital images to keep forever.

How to Prepare for Your Session:

Choosing Your Outfits

I always recommend soft, neutral, and earthy tones. Think creams, beiges, soft browns, and muted greens. Flowy dresses photograph beautifully and add movement to your images. Texture is also a wonderful way to add depth—linen, knits, or lace can all make a difference. If you need help choosing, I offer a client wardrobe with dresses specifically chosen for these sessions. I want you to feel comfortable, beautiful, and like yourself.

For breastfeeding mothers, opt for outfits that allow for easy access while still being flattering and comfortable. Layering with a cozy cardigan or wrap can also add a touch of warmth and texture to your images.

Preparing Your Children

I know that kids can be unpredictable, but that’s part of the beauty of it. We’ll embrace the chaos, the giggles, and even the meltdowns if they happen. To help things go smoothly:

  • Make sure your little ones are rested and fed before the session.

  • Bring a favorite toy or comfort item to help them feel at ease.

  • Let them be themselves! Some of my favorite images come from letting kids play and interact naturally with their mama.

Timing & Location

The time of day plays a big role in the dreamy aesthetic of these sessions. I typically shoot during golden hour—the hour just after sunrise or before sunset—when the light is soft and warm. If we’re shooting indoors, I’ll help you choose the best space in your home for beautiful natural light. I also have favorite outdoor locations local to the Stuttgart area, as well as the Ramstein/Kaiserslautern area that provide a stunning, organic backdrop to your session.

Why I Love Photographing Motherhood

I might not be a mom myself, but I have a deep appreciation for the beauty and strength of motherhood. So many little rituals that we experience as a kid ourselves are the foundation of countless happy childhood memories - think braiding your daughter’s hair, a very specific song you sing to your son or a special secret code you have with your child - that’s where the magic happens!

Those small gestures meant everything to me. And now, as a photographer, I see those same moments in my clients—the way a mother instinctively pulls her child close, the way she presses a soft kiss to their temple, the way she looks at them like they are her entire world.

That’s what I want to capture for you. The way your love feels. The little things that might otherwise go unnoticed. The quiet, beautiful magic of motherhood.

If you’re ready to create something meaningful and lasting, I would love to tell your story. Let’s freeze these moments before they slip away. ♥
