Find the perfect Location for your Photo Session around Stuttgart

Determined by your vision, I’ll help you find the perfect setting for your session depending on the season. Woods, fields or urban - you name it and we’ll make it happen! For locations further out, a travel fee will apply.

Open Fields

Open fields are fairly easy to find all around the Stuttgart area in Baden-Wuerttemberg. Some of them come with beautiful views and depending on season, you might even find yourself in a field of beautiful wild flowers. Open fields often are great to capture gorgeous sunsets and are always a great option as they provide open space for kids and pets to run around. No matter what season - fields are always in style :)

Local Flower Fields

Flower fields are by far my favorite locations! I love all the color and texture these come with. And even though sometimes it takes a while to find the perfect one, or if it’s not the most easily accessible spot - it’s so worth it!!! The local flower field season starts in late April / early May with yellow rapeseed fields and last throughout late summer / early fall. And once the flowers are past their prime blossom season - don’t let the missing color hold you back! I find dried out fields also can make for beautiful photos as it gives the picture tons of texture! If you’re looking for a fun and happy, yet natural vibe - local flower fields are where it’s at!

Forest

By far the easiest and most accessible location to find all around the Stuttgart area - the forests. The surrounding woods stretch hundreds of kilometers and are mostly very well maintained! Strolling down a path through the woods makes for great photos, no matter if you’re planning on a family session, photos with your partner or just for yourself. My favorite time to take photos in the forest is definitely summer and fall time as it offers some shade over the hot summer months and during fall time, the whole forest turns into an ocean of colors, caused by changing leaves. And if you’d like to bring along your fur kids, this is the ultimate location for dogs :)

Your Home

The most comfortable, convenient and always available location is your own home. Not having to rely on weather or having to get everyone to a location further out is always a plus. Especially for newborns and younger kids an in-home session can be very beneficial because they are familiar with their surroundings, nobody is getting too cold or hot and guess what - bathroom is right there as well ;-) These sessions capture the daily life and have more of a lifestyle approach, which often give the photos even more meaning - and they’re filled with laughs and cuddles! On a different note, your home also makes for an exceptional location for a steamy boudoir or intimate couple session!

Schloss Solitude

Schloss Solitude, a magnificent Baroque palace nestled in the Stuttgart Forest, offers a captivating blend of history, architecture, and natural beauty. This architectural gem, built in the 18th century, boasts stunning facades, ornate interiors, and meticulously landscaped gardens. The palace's grandeur and elegant surroundings make it a popular choice for photography sessions. Whether you're seeking a romantic backdrop or a regal setting, Schloss Solitude has it all. The palace's diverse architectural elements, from the main building to the various outbuildings, provide endless opportunities for versatil backdrops. For those who prefer a more natural setting, the palace's extensive parkland grounds offers picturesque landscapes, tranquil ponds, and winding paths. The park is particularly beautiful during the spring and fall seasons, when the foliage transforms into a vibrant display of colors. While the palace itself is not open to the public for photo sessions, the park remains accessible throughout the year. To capture the best photos, sessions at Schloss Solitude will take place during golden hour, when the warm sunlight illuminates the palace and its surroundings. Let’s go explore!

Burg Lichtenberg

Disclaimer: this location is NOT in the Stuttgart area, but close to my hometown near Ramstein, Rheinland-Pfalz. Therefore it can be available every now and then when I’m there visiting family.

The Lichtenberg Castle in Thallichtenberg near Kusel is a very popular location to take photos and that for very obvious reasons - the castle dating back to the 12th century is absolutely beautiful! Located only 30 minutes from Ramstein Air Base, this very intact castle offers a variety of backdrops from old ruins to stunning views overlooking the valleys. For everyone looking for the ultimate “German” feel in their photos, this is the spot for you! With its architectural highlights, it can be also a great location for winter time, as even without lush greenery, the castle is an eyecatcher! Best part - the castle grounds are open 24/7 and free of any entrance fees! One thing I will point out - it’s not for high heels! The castle grounds consist of cobble stone throughout, therefore wear comfortable shoes :) Best time of the day for this location is right before sunset as the castle is perfectly positioned besides a large field giving you the ultimate photograph with the valley and the caste in the back, and with a bit of luck a sunset on top. And if that wasn’t enough, the castle also hosts a restaurant, serving delicious traditional German food for you to enjoy after your session!

Mehlinger Heide

Disclaimer: this location is NOT in the Stuttgart area, but close to my hometown near Ramstein, Rheinland-Pfalz. Therefore it can be available every now and then when I’m there visiting family.

Heather fields are beautiful year round. During August, heather is usually at its peak, blooming in a sea of purple and lavender and you can find this 2nd largest heather nature reserve near Mehlingen, Rheinland-Pfalz. But I also love this location in the winter months as the sandy and dry grounds give it a very distinctive look and lots of texture. This is a great location for kids as there is plenty of space to run around and it’s easy accessible. If you’re looking for the perfect mix of open space, texture and (during high season) purple, then this one is for you!

Locations outside of the Stuttgart area

We have a lot of beautiful nature as well as traditional architecture right within the Stuttgart area but if you’re looking for something different or have a special location in mind, just let me know and we’ll make it happen! A few personal favorite of mine are Ireland, the Alps and any type of beach destinations.

On-Site Locations

On-site locations, such as a coffee shop, your workplace or some other specific place that is directly connected to the purpose of your photo session can add a lot of value to the final outcome. These locations are a great choice for environmental portraits, such as business headshots but it could also be a place where you and your family like to hang out and will show you in your favorite environment.
